Description
In the juvenile stage, the turn cross-section can be circular to wider than high, in old age the turn cross-section becomes oval with only slightly curved flanks (highly rectangular WQ).
A nodule stage is present on the innermost coils. This is followed by simple, strong ribs that gradually become lower and more numerous. They are radial and run almost straight, sometimes slightly s-shaped curved over the flanks. Near the external side they bend forward and disappear. The external side is mostly smooth and broadly rounded. Sometimes the ribs cross the external side in a very attenuated manner. The ribs are not high, but distinct.

Compare
At first glance, one thinks that a Megastomoceras relative is present.
However, the numerous, straight ribs and the broad, almost rectangular cross-section of the coils distinguish L. crebricinctum from Megastomoceras & Storthoceras.
