Description
D. kammerkarense differs from other species like D. calcimontanum or D. toxophorum by the even narrower navel.
After a distinct nodule stage, few numerous, broad and quite strong ribs appear. They begin at the navel edge, run first radially, then slightly retroradiatively over the flanks, then bend near the external side in a wide arc to the front and extinguish. The ribbing appears s-shaped. Split ribs appear very early.
In larger specimens, only faint, broad folds are still visible on the inner half of the flank
The cross-section of the windings is highly oval, with an umbilical edge, flattened flanks and a rounded outer side.
D. kammerkarense can become very tall.

Compare
D. kammerkarense shows the typical Discamphiceras sculpture and can be distinguished quite well from other species on the basis of the navel width, although Wähner describes a great variability of D. kammerkarense. Young, small specimens can easily be confused with other Discamphiceras.
The most similar is D. atanatense, which, however, is narrower-billed and occurs later, above A. marmoreum.
