Description

In the rotiformis horizon, very rarely ammonites are found that are narrowly forked. The shell is smooth and has an oval cross-section. The flank slopes perpendicularly to the umbilicus, there is a distinct umbilical edge. The venter is narrowly rounded. The greatest width of coiling is observed on the inner third of the weakly convex flank.

In good preservation of some batches, a faint, S-shaped striation of the shell can be seen, as is common in the genus Discamphiceras. The specimens found so far are unfortunately very small or poorly preserved.

Compare

Because of the few specimens found and the poor preservation, a species identification cannot be made yet. It is possible that Bouhamidoveras tiroli is identical.
