Description
The winding cross-section is oval, the umbilical drop is tightly rounded, the flanks and the external side are somewhat flattened. The strong ribs start at the suture, run in "manifold bends" over the flanks and bend externally to the front. Switching ribs are common. All ribs reach their greatest height externally and end in a knot. A median furrow remains free. The ribs face each other externally at an obtuse angle.

Compare
The "manifold bends" of the ribs cannot be proved on our specimen (it comes from Lower Austria), but otherwise it agrees very well with A. scolioptychum.
Angulaticeras marmoreum has less strong ribs and is more narrowly forked, as is A. trapezoidale. Very similar is A. posttaurinum, but it has much stronger ribs and is also somewhat more narrowly forked.
